The 3rd International Green Apple Day of Service, which will take place on Saturday, September 27, 2014, gives parents, teachers, students, companies and local organizations the opportunity to transform all schools into healthy, safe and productive learning environments through local service projects. Green Apple is a global movement to put all children in schools where they have clean and healthy air to breathe, where energy and resources are conserved, and where they can be inspired to dream of a brighter future.
Green Apple Day of Service projects happen on or around the last Saturday in September and range from creating murals or educational signage to doing energy audits, from planting gardens to starting recycling programs – visit www.mygreenapple.org for more project ideas, to register your project or to find events in your area.
USGBC Arizona is offering $500 Green Apple grants to Arizona K-12 schools. See the announcement for more information and to download the application. Deadline is September 5, 2014.
